Gateway, Peterborough
Gateway Partnership LLP, a joint venture between Frenbury Properties Ltd and Simons Developments of Lincoln, has been given the green light to develop Gateway Peterborough, a £140 million warehouse and distribution park, in collaboration with Milton (Peterborough) Estates Company on their 119 acre site at Alwalton Hill.
Located adjacent to the A1(M) and accessed from Junction 1 on Fletton Parkway, Gateway Peterborough will provide easy access for all traffic to the A1 and A605 through to the A14/M1/M6 corridor.
Outline planning permission has been obtained and a reserved matters application is due to be submitted shortly. Work is due to commence on site in 2009. The buildings proposed are 675,000 sq ft, 418,000 sq ft, 300,000 sq ft, 253,000 sq ft and 171,000 sq ft.
The five buildings at Gateway Peterborough will total 1,817,085 sq ft (168,807 sq m). Designed by the award winning Leicester-based architects Stephen George & Partners, working closely with Peterborough City Council’s Planning Department, Gateway will offer cutting-edge design in a heavily landscaped environment, one in which every care has been taken to safeguard existing wildlife and, at the same time, achieve a high standard of sustainability, energy conservation and environmental care – in short, a development of which Peterborough will be justifiably proud.
